Problem: Information Overload

Modern car dashboards can often overwhelm drivers with too much information, leading to distraction rather than assistance. Drivers need critical information about their vehicle and environment but are faced with complex interfaces that display extensive data ranging from navigation to media, climate control, and vehicle diagnostics. This clutter can reduce the overall safety and usability of the car, especially in critical driving situations.

Modern car dashboards can often overwhelm drivers with too much information, leading to distraction rather than assistance. Drivers need critical information about their vehicle and environment but are faced with complex interfaces that display extensive data ranging from navigation to media, climate control, and vehicle diagnostics. This clutter can reduce the overall safety and usability of the car, especially in critical driving situations.

Design a simplified, context-aware interface that adapts to driving conditions and personal preferences, enhancing safety and usability.


Adaptive Content Display: Show relevant information based on real-time driving context.

Customizable Profiles: Allow drivers to set preferences for different driving scenarios.

Minimalist Design: Use large, clear fonts and a soothing color scheme to improve readability.

Voice Control Integration: Enable hands-free operation to keep drivers focused on the road.

In conducting my UX research, I utilised several research methods, including depth interviews and qualitative research. The depth interviews allowed me to gather detailed insights from individual users about their experiences and preferences with car dashboards. At the same time, the qualitative research helped me to identify patterns and trends in user behaviour and attitudes towards dashboard designs.


By combining these methods, I was able to gain a rich understanding

of my target audience's needs and use this knowledge to inform my

UI design decisions, creating a more user-friendly and efficient driving experience.
